Founder of the Etude de Style design agency in Neuchâtel,Sébastien Perret presents himself as a craftsman. A trained jeweller and gem-setter who learnt his craft in the heart of the Swiss Jura, the melting pot of ine watchmaking, he developed a passion for the watch as an object, mixing aesthetic, technical and cultural reflections.
Pencil in hand, Sébastien Perret and his team have accompanied the development of some of the finest global brands for nearly 15 years, with an approach that blends discretion and creativity.
“Streamlining without spoiling the neo-Gothic style is like trying to square the circle! The Westminster clock tower has an impressive, monolithic and slender form. As your eyes fix upon it, they travel over the infinite details that reveal themselves in successive stages: full and fine features, the shadows of the openings, the light of the clock face as it expresses a circular vision of time contained within a square. We strove to apply these visual impressions to the creation of a new timepiece while remaining faithful to the contemporary identity of the MIDO signature.”
